Medical Transportation Insurance Specialist

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Virtual Assistant with a background in the medical transportation industry to manage and maintain insurance relationships. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling insurance claims, verifying patient eligibility, managing billing inquiries, and ensuring smooth communication between our company and insurance providers. Key Responsibilities:

• Insurance Verification & Claims Processing:
• Verify patient eligibility for transportation services.
• Submit and track insurance claims for medical transportation.
• Handle claim denials and resubmissions efficiently.
• Billing & Payment Management:
• Review insurance reimbursements and resolve discrepancies.
• Communicate with insurance companies regarding payments and outstanding claims.
• Maintain accurate records of transactions and invoices.
• Provider & Client Coordination:
• Act as a liaison between patients, insurance providers, and transportation services.
• Assist in credentialing and maintaining compliance with insurance networks.
• Follow up on pending authorizations and approvals.
• Administrative Support:
• Maintain and update insurance records in the company’s system.
• Generate reports related to claims and reimbursements.
• Assist with customer inquiries regarding insurance coverage and billing.

Qualifications:

• Required Experience:
• At least 1-2 years of experience working in medical transportation, insurance verification, or billing.
• Familiarity with Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance reimbursement processes.
• Knowledge of Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) services is a plus.
• Skills & Competencies:
• Strong understanding of medical insurance procedures and claims processing.
• Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems and billing software.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with insurance credentialing for medical transportation providers.
• Familiarity with HIPAA compliance.
• Prior experience working as a remote VA in the healthcare or transportation industry.
